Teams to share KERS experiences - Brawn
Thursday 21 August at 18:57 : The challenge of F1's incoming KERS technology is requiring a new brand of thinking among teams.

Ross Brawn, Honda boss and also the technical spokesman for the new FOTA alliance of the ten F1 teams, revealed that all the teams are collaborating closely to ensure that the energy-recovery systems, set to debut in 2009, are as safe as possible.

Numerous F1 teams have encountered difficulties in the current development phase with KERS systems, the most high-profile being the Red Bull fire-alarm incident, and the BMW-Sauber electric shock at Jerez a month ago.

But while F1 teams are notoriously secretive, Brawn told Motorsport Aktuell that "all the teams are sharing their experiences" when it comes to KERS, "to ensure we have a very high safety standard".

Indeed, at the end of its long investigation into the Jerez electric shock incident, BMW on Thursday confirmed that it is to share the results both with the FIA and F1's other nine teams.

The German team also said it expecting to resume its KERS testing programme in the autumn.
