The sports newspaper Marca claims that some teams have calculated that because the benefit of the energy-reuse technology will be limited at some circuits, it may be wiser not to use a heavy and fully-functioning KERS unit all of the time
However, a scaled-back version of the technology - presumably lighter and smaller - might be fitted to the cars simply to provide an acceleration boost off the grid at the start of grands prix
