Barrichello steeled to win after Spain storm
Friday 22 May at 12:00 : May 22 (GMM) Rubens Barrichello held forthright talks with team boss Ross Brawn after suspecting his teammate Jenson Button received preferential treatment in Spain two weeks ago

The Brazilian veteran was outwardly irritated after Barcelona that, despite outpacing his championship leading teammate throughout the weekend until the race, a late strategy change saw Button race to victory

Barrichello, 36, said he was so upset by the events at the Circuit de Catalunya because, again under Brawn's strategic rule, exactly the same thing had happened to him on occasion with Michael Schumacher as his number one Ferrari teammate

"Even Ross has some situations he is not proud of," he is quoted as saying at Monaco, where he was faster than Button in both Thursday practice sessions, by the Mirror newspaper

Barrichello added: "I was still emotional after the race and I told Ross if something was done for Jenson, I am prepared to go back to Brazil and never come back again

"It should be equal terms and he promised me that's how it's going to be so I am very happy with that," he said

Before the Brawn takeover, Barrichello has been Briton Button's teammate at Honda since 2006, and their duel has usually been close

"I don't see Jenson running far ahead for the whole season," said Rubens, despite failing to win a single race this year while Button strolled to a 14 point lead

"I could even say this time it's my turn. But words mean nothing. I just have to go out there, win the race and shut some people up," Barrichello said
