Montreal not worried about Ecclestone deadline
Saturday 3 Oktober at 06:01 : Oct.3 (GMM) Montreal mayor Gerald Trembley insists he is not worried about next week's deadline to reach a final deal with Bernie Ecclestone for a Canadian grand prix in 2010.

A report in the Canadian press on Friday said F1's chief executive is losing patience with the dithering organisers and wants "final answers" when he returns next week from Japan.

"If I don't have them, there won't be a grand prix in Montreal," said the 78-year-old.

Ecclestone also said he was "no longer confident" a race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will take place mid next year, but Montreal mayor Tremblay told local radio CJAD: "I'm not very concerned about that.

"We're continuing our negotiations and when we have a signed deal we'll make it public."

Asked when a deal will be announced, Tremblay added: "As soon as possible."
